11 March was the 200th anniversary of the birth of William Vincent Wallace (1812-1865). Wallace, who was born in Waterford, is most well-known for his opera Maritana. You can read more about him in Dr. Una Hunt’s informative entry on the National Library of Ireland’s blog.
